About the artist

Michael David Ward is a Nippo-American artist and writer from the high technology industry. Artist accomplished in several genres, he is also a graphic and industrial designer. In addition to his artistic activities, Michael is a science fiction and fantasy writer.

He has created many commemorative images for Paramount Studios, Lucas Arts and New Line Cinema on emblematic franchises such as Star Trek, Star Wars And Lost in space. His works and character designs have been dismissed by many companies for various products. His work has also been published in many magazines, especially Heavy Metal Magazine, and illustrated with books of books. Its original paintings and its limited edition impressions are collected around the world and have been widely exposed in galleries and exhibitions in the United States, Europe and Japan.

His works are part of the collections of personalities such as Gene Roddenberry, George Lucas, Jeff Bezos, William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, Nichelle Nichols, Jonathan Frakes, as well as many other actors and companies. Michael was also selected as a star artist in a series of exhibitions entitled Marine Art Exhibition, in partnership with the Cousteau Society, which took place in Monterey, California, and in Maui, in Hawaii.

Some of his works have been seen in television shows such as Third planet after the sun, Star Trek 25th Anniversary Special, the documentary Trekkies and have even been put forward in the attraction Star Tours in Disneyland. His work also drew the attention of 20th Century Fox and MGM Animations, where some of his creations have been optional as entertainment properties.

Michael continues to illustrate and write, participating in many creative projects. His philosophy: Creativity is intrinsic to our being!
