AMANDINE JUNG, MUCH MORE THAN COLORING, AN ADVENTURE, SHARING, AND A TOUCH OF MAGIC…
Born in 1987, in Brittany, the land of fairies and korrigans, Amandine Jung is enchanted by tales and legends, whimsical nursery rhymes, and cartoons of all kinds. She retains her childlike spirit in a world she imagines as dark and poetic. In her imagination, the sun can disappear to make way for the moon, Snow White can bite into a beaded apple, and a little shrew curiously flies in the sky. Transitioning from a simple image in her mind to giving it form is a challenging creative process. Amandine plays with paint, lines, and her ideas. She draws inspiration from the smallest word, a tiny musical note, a soft spicy scent, the sound of rain falling on the ground, the autumn leaves singing in the Breton forests, the moon that makes her dreamy, the simplest image, and her overflowing imagination does the rest.
Since 2018, the artist has ventured into the world of coloring and unveiled a new talent for creating adult coloring books. In 2020, her first book “ “Snow White, the Poisoned Princess“ was released, followed in 2021 by “Cinderella and the Halloween Ball“, and in 2022 “Pinups, Special Edition 2022” marked the beginning of her recognition, her name starting to resonate everywhere.
In October 2022, for Halloween, Amandine Jung proposed a whole new adventure with her first novel “Chrysalide, Tale 1: The Black Coma“. She takes us on a journey in a poetic and fantastic tale in the Kingdom of the Moon, a world without sun dominated by eternal night.
In November 2022, in her third coloring book, Amandine Jung dives into the famous tale by Hans Christian Andersen. This time, it is between earth and sea that Amandine invites us to travel. Through her illustrations, imbued with her unique and dreamlike vision, rediscover this wonderful tale from our childhood: “The Little Mermaid”. Page after page, as brushes and pencils dance, relive the enchanting and tragic story of little Ondine, which inspired many writings, from yesterday to today.
