(2 products)
Adrian Chesterman studied fine arts at the Norwich School of Art and the illustration at the Royal College of Art in Kensington, London. Since he left the R.C.A., Chesterman has worked in almost all the spheres of the art world.
As an illustrator, he worked for almost everyone, on almost everything, almost everywhere. The advertising illustrations of "Jurassic Park" for Stephen Spielberg in Los Angeles, the sets of "Sunset Boulevard" for Andrew Lloyd-Weber in Frankfurt. Among the advertising orders, let us quote "Coca Cola" in Atlanta, "Southern Sun Hotels" at the CAP and video game illustrations for "Nintendo" in Chicago. Conceptions and visualizations for original themed parks with the United Arab Emirates and China, "Spiderman" games for MGA in Los Angeles and, in the past ten years, the Rolls Royce aeronautical motors division in London has asked him to illustrate almost 50 pages for the magazine "Flight".
Among his recent projects, let us quote the creation of the gigantic illustration of the largest puzzle in the world, commanded by Educa Boras in Barcelona. Incredible size of 33,600 pieces and measuring 2 meters by 6, it represents a scene from the jungle full of details. We have also made a series of covers for the series of pocket books "Armchair Reader" published by Publications International in Illinois, as well as the 21 covers of "Famous Five", the classic series of Enid Blighton. Saatchi & Saatchi's in Sidney has just ordered a series of illustrations by Toyota Landcruiser for the Sidney 2015 and Seaworld car show in the United States has just ordered a "Turtle World" theme park in San Diego.
Chesterman also illustrated books of books for Jackie Collins, Jack Higgins and Dick Francis, many children's books on dinosaurs and an illustrated encyclopedia for children. He illustrated countless music album covers, including "Bomber" for Motorhead, "The Meaning of Life" for the Monty Python team and "The Road to Hell" for Chris Rea. He also illustrated an animated clip for "Baby's Coming Back" of the Eurythmics and even built and painted a real guitar in the shape of a skull for the new romantic group "Adam and the Ants".
The portrait is another of Chesterman's artistic directions. Among the previous commissioners were Prince Adan Czartoryski-Bourbon, King Juan Carlos of Spain, Mikael Barshnikov, the Ballet dancer, a certain captain of the Welsh Guard, some Hollywood actors, countless children, cats, dogs and a horse called George. Oh ... and a naked portrait of "wolf", the "gladiator" of television, which has finished, in one way or another, on page 5 of a national daily life, but the less we say, the better it is!
Chesterman had his first exhibition of paintings at Liberty's in Regent Street when he was still at the Royal College of Art. He then exhibited at the Center Pompidou in Paris and the Gallerie Schemes in Lille, France, at the International Contemporary Art Fair in Olympia, Spinks, Kensington Town Hall and BBC Center in London, at the Batey gallery in Singapore, at the Madison gallery in Los Angeles and in many countries in Spain. He participated in The Riverside Show, 01 for London, Artwork and other artistic programs in the United Kingdom, as well as television shows in Spain.
