An officially licensed diamond painting kit reproduces an artwork or a character with the permission of its creator or rights holder. For you, it guarantees an authentic image signed by an identified artist; for the artist, it means recognised and paid work. At Oraloa, every product is licensed: no design is ever used without permission.
What does “officially licensed” mean?
An illustration, a cartoon character or a painter’s work belongs to its creator or to the company that holds the rights. To reproduce it on a diamond painting canvas, a Pixel Hobby kit or a cross stitch kit, their agreement is required: that is the licence. It sets out how the work may be used and how its creator is paid.
At Oraloa, this is the rule for the whole catalogue. Every artist is paid for their work, under the terms agreed with them, and we offer no unauthorised designs. Respect for artistic work and intellectual property is one of our core values.
What the licence changes for you
- You know who created the image. Each product page states where the design comes from: “Officially licensed artwork by…” followed by the artist’s name, or “Official licence” followed by the character’s name.
- You get the artist’s world. The artwork is reproduced with its creator’s agreement, respecting their style and artistic intention.
- You support creative work. The artist who imagined the image you are about to make sparkle is paid for their work.
- You are covered by the Oraloa guarantee when you buy from the official website or one of our official partners. A kit resold on a second-hand platform or by a private individual is not covered, because we cannot check its authenticity or contents.
What the licence changes for the artist
For an illustrator, seeing their work turned into a creative kit means reaching a new audience. The licence ensures this happens with their consent and in return for payment. We build a relationship of trust with each artist that is lasting and transparent: regular communication, recognition of their talent and promotion of their work, especially on our Our artists page.
Some artists may occasionally use new tools, such as artificial intelligence, in their creative process. In that case our priority stays the same: to work together transparently, respecting their style, their intention and copyright.

Why Oraloa does not accept unsolicited ideas
Out of respect for intellectual property, we do not review or use ideas, illustrations or concepts sent spontaneously by email, on social media or to customer service. This rule protects both outside creators and our own teams. Our collaborations follow a clear framework: a formal request from us and a written agreement setting out rights, payment and use of the creations. Calls for collaboration are announced only on our official channels.
Frequently asked questions
How can I tell whether an Oraloa kit is licensed?
They all are. The product page shows the name of the artist or licence in the Details section.
Are the artists really paid?
Yes. All our products are licensed and every artist is paid for their work, under the terms agreed with them. This is explained in our FAQ.
Is a second-hand Oraloa kit covered by the guarantee?
No. Only products bought on the official Oraloa website or from our official partners benefit from the Oraloa guarantee.
Can I submit my drawing for a future kit?
We do not review unsolicited submissions. To hear about calls for collaboration, follow our official social media, the Oraloa newsletter and our website.
Are licensed kits only for fans?
Not at all. A licence guarantees where the image comes from; the kit is a diamond painting like any other, with a level, a size and all the materials included.
