Cross stitch: how does it work?

4 simple steps, an embroidery stitch by stitch

The pattern is printed on the canvas: just follow the symbols.

Step 1 Split A thread has 6 strands: use 2 for a 14 CT canvas, 3 for an 11 CT canvas.

Step 2 Find Each symbol on the canvas matches a number in the legend: take the matching thread.

Step 3 Stitch Make an X on each square, always crossing your stitches in the same direction.

Step 4 Reveal Finish with backstitch, then rinse below 30 °C: the ink fades, the stitching stays.
