Snow leopards, white tigers, elephants and lions; The earth, the moon, the galaxies and the nebulae - these are the subjects which spring from a shimmel canvas and captivate the hearts of those who admire his work. For more than twenty years, Schim Schimmel painted in a style that is clean, expressing on canvas his love and wonder for this incredible planet, his animals, and the universe that created them.

Schim Schimmel studied art with his father, William Schimmel, a watercolorist and recognized art teacher. Schim subsequently, Schim taught watercolor, oil painting and acrylic to thousands of students for more than a decade. In 1987, he stopped teaching to devote himself fully to his artistic style in development, a style for which he is now recognized worldwide.

In 1991, Schimmel's works were exhibited at the Tokyo art exhibition in Japan. His work was immediately adopted by the Japanese, and a year later, he was asked by Shogakukan, one of the biggest books of books in Japan, to write a book for children using his works. Since then, Schimmel has produced six other books and has traveled more than 50 times in Japan, participating in hundreds of art exhibitions in dozens of cities across the four main islands of the country. Schimmel continues to participate each year in exhibitions with Living Art, the first Japanese quality art company.

Schim and his wife, Joann, live in Arizona, in the United States.

For over twenty years now, Schim Schimmel has been painting in a style uniquely his own, expressing on canvas his love and awe for this incredible planet, its animals, and the
universe that brought them into being.

Schim Schimmel studied art with his father, William Schimmel, a well-known watercolorist and art instructor. Schim subsequently taught watercolor, oil, and acrylic landscape painting to thousands of students for over a decade. In 1987 he quit teaching to devote full time to his developing art style, the style he is now recognized for around the world.

In 1991 Schimmel’s artwork was shown at the Tokyo Art Expo in Japan. His work was immediately embraced by the Japanese, and a year later he was asked by Shogakukan, one of the largest book publishers in Japan, to write a children’s book using his artwork. Since then, Schimmel has produced six more books, and has traveled to Japan over 50 times, attending hundreds of art shows in dozens of cities throughout the four main islands of the country.
