As a child, Rachel Blackwell often spent her time sitting in the willow tree at the bottom of the garden, dreaming, painting or drawing. This passion accompanied her into adulthood, through different careers, until the day she chose to follow her heart by studying Fine Arts at university to become a full-time artist, muralist and illustrator.
His paintings are inspired by the wild corners of his native region, in the English countryside, and are often born during his walks in the forest, his kayaking trips or his moments of meditation in the great outdoors. In Rachel's imagination, these landscapes are not only populated by woodland animals, but also by mythical creatures, fairies, goddesses and nature spirits.
Rachel uses both traditional painting techniques and digital tools to capture this magical universe, a place of softness and wonder in a sometimes harsh world.
