Maria Lia Malandrino

Maria Lia is an Italian illustrator and concept artist.

Self -taught, she grew up with Disney films, Italian comics (W.I.T.C.H., Corto Maltese, Dylan Dog) and Japanese anime (the works of the Rumiko Takahashi mangaka and the inspiring imagination of Hayao Miyazaki), whose mixture helped her develop her own style.

She spent most of her years of training in England, where she obtained a license in edition of magazines at the University of London Arts.

She then worked and traveled in Asia. She worked in various sectors as a graphic designer, host and conceptual artist and always feels pushed to tell stories through images, whether in the form of a short film or a video game.

She now lives in Turin, where she shares her daily life with Muta, a small Viverrin dog from China. She works as a designer and screenwriter in the fields of animation and video games.
