KENTARO NISHINO [born 1980] is a Japanese painter known internationally for his works depicting wildlife. He grew up in a rich natural environment, under the influence of his father, a naturalist guide. He started drawing at a young age, on the advice of his mother, and was awarded in several international children's painting competitions. After graduating from high school, he decided to leave Japan. While studying at the University of Hawaii, he discovered airbrush techniques and the vibrant colors of Hawaiian nature, which inspired him to become an artist. He then enrolled at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco to further his artistic knowledge, particularly the basics of drawing. Returning to Japan, he won the 2nd Art Academy Award Semi Grand Prix, one of the largest art competitions in the country.
He began his career as a professional artist in 2005 and has held several exhibitions. His works have received international acclaim. They have been developed into numerous products, such as puzzles, and marketed throughout the world.
