Alan is a freelance artist who started out as a storyboard artist for a London agency, before returning to his roots in the North East to pursue a career in graphic design. Although he enjoyed working in design for large clients, Alan always loved illustration. 13 years later, after working as a tattoo artist, he arrived at Advocate Art's doorstep. Since joining Advocate Art a year and a half ago, Alan has had the chance to work on a variety of projects, including the Ben 10 Omniverse graphic novels for Viz Media, as well as children's book illustrations for publishers such as Harper Collins and Watts. He can indulge in many styles depending on the client, but with a strong interest in the world of comics, he is comfortable working on bold graphic works and comic strips. He works in an attic studio with his faithful companion, Ollie the miniature schnauzer (miniature in size, giant in personality and appetite), and his two sons Wilf and Teddy.
