Carissa Harris

Carissa started drawing at a very young age, inspired by picture books, comics and her favorite animated films. She studied graphic design and animation in Brisbane, Australia, but fell in love with illustration when she worked on her first children's book. She now lives in Melbourne, where she loves exploring laneway cafés and watching the autumn leaves fall, while doing her best to stay warm. She spends most of her days drawing on her tablet or computer, with a cup of hot coffee and a good podcast or audiobook playing in the background. Although she works digitally, her artwork is inspired by the traditional illustration styles of the classic children's books she read when she was little. She loves creating fun characters in colorful settings and usually tries to draw a cat or a dog somewhere on the page if she can.
