Carissa started drawing from an early age, inspired by pictures of images, comics and her favorite animated films. She studied graphics and animation in Brisbane, Australia, but fell in love with illustration when she worked on her first children's book. She lives today in Melbourne, where she likes to explore the cafes of the alleys and observe the fall of the fall leaves, while doing her best to stay warm. She spends most of her days drawing on her tablet or computer, with a cup of hot coffee and a good podcast or audio book in the background. Although she works in digital, her artistic work is inspired by traditional illustration styles of classic children's books that she read when she was small. She likes to create fun characters in colorful sets and generally try to draw a cat or a dog somewhere on the page if she can.
