WHERE I COME FROM
I am a self-taught painter. I started painting in oils, exploring different techniques. Not finding what I was looking for, I kept drawing for my own pleasure and turned to graphic design for more than 20 years, where I explored different visual styles. That is where my style emerged. This change led me to move back to the countryside and devote my time to my family life.
WHAT INSPIRES ME
This other path allowed me to find a style of artistic expression that reflects my colorful, spontaneous and gentle side. Inspired by the animal kingdom and by human beings, I love painting my subjects in a setting full of movement and very colorful vegetation. A setting that fills you with wonder and carries you into a dream, through the magical world that emerges from it. I want to touch that spark of magic present in everyone.
WHERE I BEGIN
My works follow these stages: I start by producing an automatic drawing, then I let myself be inspired by the range of colors to use, and finally I finish with a black outline in India ink.
ARTISTIC STYLE
My art moves between Pop Art, psychedelia and naïve art. My works express Joy and awaken us to the Space of the void through their bright colors, applied in flat areas with acrylic paint. I believe the black lines surrounding each shape create a distraction for the mind, which brings about an inner calm. In my view, the black lines represent the 0.001%* of our material reality, while the flat areas of color are Space. We believe we are separate from Space, whereas separation is only a tiny part of reality, as we understand it.
CHARACTERISTICS
My works stand out for the absence of straight lines and the presence of continuous movement. They contain a multitude of shapes, from circles, many of them concentric, to hearts and flowers that come together to form various mythical symbols.
* According to quantum physics, our material reality represents only 0.001%; the other 99.999% is the Space of the quantum void, that is, the limitless.
