Al Hogue describes his art and philosophy in one word: “light,” which he describes as “a reflection of nature, of life itself.” Since childhood, Hogue has found visual media much more conducive to his nature as a dyslexic artist than words. He creates a world of peace in his works, using his mastery of color and light to relieve his own and others' stress. Hogue uses his art to heal: his works have been used in hospital studies and found to contribute to physiological healing; they now decorate hundreds of hospital rooms across the country. Additionally, Hogue's works are in private and public collections in the United States and around the world.
